MAGGIO FIORENTINO (FLORENTINE MAY) FESTIVAL
To celebrate the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, the festival also presents a new Theatre commission titled Leonardesca. Aphorisms for children’s voices and piano on texts by Leonardo da Vinci by Luca Logi, which features the May Children’s Choir directed by Lorenzo Fratini performing at the Zeffirelli Foundation. Another commission of the May Festival in absolute first performance, still in homage to the genius Da Vinci, is the record concert for 500 brass and percussion titled “Musical vision” by Giorgio Battistelli (at 17 and 18 hours Piazza Vittorio Gui).

On the day of the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci (Amboise, 1519), the Academy of Fine Arts is organizing the conference “The artiss’ Leonardo” with the art historian and expert scholar of Leonardo, Marco Cianchi.
