HUMANISM AND THE MODERN WAY
For the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci and the birth of Cosimo I de ‘Medici, the Opera of Santa Maria del Fiore promotes a series of meetings, edited by Antonio Natali and Sergio Givone, entitled “Humanism and the ‘modern way'”. The ninth appointment is by Fabrizio Paolucci who speaks on “Under the sign of the Ancient One: the archaeological collectibles of Cosimo I”. LEONARDO DA VINCI
At Casa Buonarroti, in the context of the celebrations for the five hundred years since the death of Leonardo da Vinci, Cristina Acidini speaks of “Leonardo in Florence: life, art, friends and rivals, Michelangelo included ”. Via Ghibellina 70, 5pm
GIULIANO GHELLI
At the Mario Luzi library as part of the exhibition “Leonardo da Vinci in the art of Giuliano Ghelli”, a study entitled “Dialogue on Leonardo da Vinci and Giuliano Ghelli” in which the links and points of contact that unite the two Tuscan artists in their respective artistic productions will be explained, starting from the great 1992 exhibition curated at the Castello Sforzesco by Carlo Pedretti. At the Mario Luzi library, the exhibition venue together with Villa Arrivabene and the Dino Pieraccioni library, there are two of Giuliano Ghelli’s thirty-three total works and a video projection of the paintings chosen for the exhibition scheduled until next May 19.
